Needles and Pins

During the winter months of 2007/2008 we lent our Bigfoot to some business friends for them to stand in the foyer of their main hall – at the time it seemed like a good idea. However it seemed that the PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH notice that had been pinned to him rather like an evacuee’s name card had not had the desired effect as he was returned to us last year in a rather sorry state. Namely, his right arm had been wrenched from its socket and his left hand was completely unattached.

I spent an hour or so on Wednesday stitching him up, brushing him down and trying to dispel the aura that he had spent the last six months sleeping rough. I wasn’t 100% successful, but managed to sew up a few gaps and reunite his left hand with its wrist at least. Unfortunately, his wayward arm will have to wait until we can completely take him apart and refurbish him properly. However, it is one of those things that does not show unless you know it is there, and he is now ready and waiting to be transported down to the Village Hall for the weekend.
